These free little Binding Guides from Design Resources are a fantastic little piece for graphic designers who are just starting out. They show a simple overview of what the options for binding are, what sort of page numbers you can do for that particular binding type and the price range you can expect to pay.

They are great for established designers as well to use to show your clients the different options that maybe available to them for their printing project. Clients are often bamboozled by our big words, so this visual explanation is perfect to make them understand their options.

Dear Photograph

Taylor Jones founded Dear Photograph back in May of 2011, after a night at home with his family looking at old photo albums.

They came across an image of his younger brother sitting in front of his 3rd birthday cake, it occurred to Jones that right at that moment his brother, now a lot older was sitting in exactly the same place, Jones grabbed his camera and took a shoot of the old photography lined up to match its original place, he posted it to a few blogs and within a few short months Dear Photograph had become a worldwide phenomenon.

Nearly a year on, the site has had over 10 million hits with it reaching over 20,000 hits a day! Along with each photography that are submitted, the submitter also adds their story of the photo, this makes for the most lovely reading.

So if you have some spare time this week make sure you pop over and spending some time taking in all the images, who know maybe you can send one yourself. Make sure you let us know if you do!

Photography Andrey Pavlov takes the most amazing images of ANTS! Yes, that's right ANTS! Andrey uses a macro lens to setup and capture all the ongoings of these amazing creatures. Yes of course the images are staged but seriously can you image how much work that would take!

I have been a fan of Emily Green for a while now, so you can image how excited I was to receive one of her fantastic necklaces for my birthday! Emily is a Melbourne based designer who makes necklaces and brooches from the most fantastic colours and shapes. It is clear to see her love of colour. She also just got married and her wedding looked amazing. You can see some of her wedding pictures right here.

Hector Sos is Barcelona based artist and designer who created these fantastic paper creations for a spanish paper company. They are fantastic and I cannot stop looking at them. I can only image the hours that went into creating them.

We are pretty excited to show you this new project we have been working on with our lovely clients at Expressions Dance Company.

Launch Pad 2012 is an exclusive in-house studio season choreographed by Lisa Wilson, Claire Marshall and Gareth Belling. It is a series of short duets by ECD's dancers and is an avenue for "road-testing" their new ideas in their own unique style.

So why not shout yourself and get down to the EDC studio between the 21st and 25th February for this up close and personal encounter with dancers and choreographers.
